Dealing with Depression

Depression is a serious medical condition that effects nine percent of American adults. It's more than just feeling sad, it's feelings of hopelessness that effect the daily lives of you and those around you.

Luckily, depression is treatable. At Highmark Wholecare, we are just as committed to your mental health as we are to your physical health. That's why we have our Depression Care Management Program. A Care Manager can help:

  • Provide regular support through phone calls
  • Answer questions to help you understand depression
  • Manage your depression through health coaching
  • Plan and coordinate medical services with doctors

Substance Use Disorders

Substance Use Disorders directly, and indirectly, impact millions of Americans. Almost 12 percent of Medicaid beneficiaries over 18 have a problem. These people can spend twice the amount of money on healthcare per year as healthy individuals. Luckily, Medicaid may cover some of the services required to keep you or a loved one healthy.

Visit the Medicaid website to learn more.

Quit Smoking

Quitting smoking is one of the best ways to live longer and stay out of the hospital. If you or somebody close to you is a smoker, there are a number of ways to quit.
